We are human. We make mistakes. Maybe the cafe man spelled your name "Emeka" as "Emeka" (wait, that's the same). Maybe he spelled "Micheal" instead of "Michael." Maybe you put your Date of Birth as 2026 instead of 2008. Or maybe—and this is the most common one—you chose "Medicine" at UNILAG, but after seeing your mock score, you realize you need to change to "Fishery" at a Polytechnic.
Whatever the mistake, the JAMB E-Facility platform is where you go to fix it.
Today, I’m going to walk you through the Correction of Data process on the E-Facility portal. I will tell you what can be changed, how much it costs, and the one mistake you cannot afford to make.
What Can You Actually Change on JAMB E-Facility?
JAMB allows you to correct specific details, but it comes at a cost (usually ₦2,500 per service).
Change of Course/Institution
This is the "Green Card" for students. If your score is low, use this to switch to a school that will accept you.
Names Correction
Spelling errors or arrangement (Surname first).
Date of Birth Correction
Warning: You can only do this ONCE. If you mess it up a second time, you will need to go to JAMB headquarters in Abuja.
Gender/State/LGA Correction
For those who mistakenly clicked "Female" instead of "Male."
How to Do It (The Right Way)
You cannot do this on your phone browser properly. You need a PC or a JAMB Accredited Centre.
- Login to your E-Facility Dashboard.
- Click on "Registration (2026 Only)" on the sidebar.
- Select "UTME Data Correction".
- Make the payment (Remita).
- Important: After payment, you MUST visit an accredited center to complete the thumbprint verification. You cannot finish it at home!
The "Unforgivable" Mistake
You can pay N2,500 to fix a wrong name. You can pay N2,500 to change your course.
But there is no amount of money you can pay to "Correct" a low score after the exam.
Once you click "Submit" on that exam day, your score is permanent. No E-Facility button can change 150 to 250.
Don't Fix the Form. Fix the Student.
Many students spend more time worrying about their "Profile Details" than their "Head Details." They want their name to be spelled perfectly on the result slip, but they don't care if the score on that slip is embarrassing.
Prioritize your preparation. While you are visiting the cafe to correct your Date of Birth, ensure you are also visiting Exambra.xyz to correct your brain.
How Exambra Prevents the "Change of Course" Walk of Shame:
-
1
Target High Scores
Students who use Exambra don't usually need to do "Change of Course." Why? Because they score high enough to get their first choice.
-
2
Identify Weaknesses Early
Exambra’s AI tells you: "Hey, you are failing Calculus." It gives you time to fix it before the exam. E-Facility can't do that.
-
3
Save Money
N2,500 for correction + N1,000 for cafe + Transport = N4,000. Exambra costs less than the price of fixing your mistakes.
Final Word
Go and correct your name. It is important. But remember: A correct name on a failure result is still a failure.
Fix your bio-data on JAMB E-Facility. Fix your score on Exambra.
